Sebifin

Sebifin is an antifungal medication containing Terbinafine Hydrochloride. It belongs to the allylamine class of antifungals and works by inhibiting squalene epoxidase, a key enzyme in fungal cell membrane synthesis, leading to ergosterol deficiency and intracellular squalene accumulation, causing fungal cell death.

Dosage by Body Weight

For adults, the typical oral dose is 250 mg once daily. The duration of treatment varies from 2 to 6 weeks for skin infections (like tinea pedis or corporis) and 6 weeks to 12 weeks for nail infections (onychomycosis). It should be taken exactly as prescribed by a healthcare professional and the course must be completed even if symptoms improve.
