Scabene
Scabene is a topical ectoparasiticide containing Lindane, an organochlorine insecticide. It acts directly on the nervous system of parasites (lice and mites) to cause paralysis and death. Due to risks of severe neurotoxicity, including seizures, Lindane-containing products are reserved as second-line treatments and are heavily restricted or banned in several countries.
Dosage by Body Weight
For topical dermatological use only. For scabies: Apply a thin layer of lotion from the neck down to dry, clean skin. Wash off thoroughly after 8 to 12 hours. Do not leave on for longer. For lice: Apply shampoo to dry hair, leave on for exactly 4 minutes, then rinse thoroughly with water. Only a single application is typically recommended; do not retreat without consulting a doctor.
