Riopan Plus

Riopan Plus is an over-the-counter combination medication containing magaldrate (an antacid) and simethicone (an antiflatulent). Magaldrate works by neutralizing excess stomach acid to relieve burning and indigestion, while simethicone reduces the surface tension of gas bubbles in the stomach and intestines, allowing them to coalesce and be expelled more easily.

Dosage by Body Weight

For adults and children 12 years of age and older: Take 1 to 2 teaspoons (5 to 10 mL) of oral suspension, or chew 1 to 2 tablets, between meals and at bedtime, or as directed by a doctor. Shake liquid suspension well before use. Do not take more than the maximum daily limit (typically 80 mL of regular suspension or 8 tablets in 24 hours) or use the maximum dosage for more than 2 weeks except under the advice and supervision of a physician.
