Renvela

Renvela (sevelamer carbonate) is a non-calcium, non-metal phosphate binder. It works by binding dietary phosphorus in the gastrointestinal tract, which prevents its absorption into the bloodstream and helps maintain healthy phosphorus levels in patients on dialysis.

Dosage by Body Weight

Must be taken with meals. The typical starting adult dose is 0.8 g to 1.6 g orally three times daily with meals, depending on initial serum phosphorus levels. Pediatric dosing for children 6 years and older is determined by Body Surface Area (BSA). Dose titration is guided by regular blood tests.
