Racecadotril

Unlike loperamide, Racecadotril reduces the excessive secretion of water and electrolytes into the gut without slowing down the bowel transit time.

Dosage by Body Weight

Standard pediatric dose is 1.5 mg/kg per dose, three times daily. Used as an adjunct to ORS.
