Ponstel

Ponstel (mefenamic acid) is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) used to treat mild to moderate pain and menstrual discomfort. It works by blocking the production of prostaglandins, which are chemicals that cause pain, fever, and inflammation in the body.

Dosage by Body Weight

For patients 14 years and older, the recommended dose is 500 mg as an initial dose, followed by 250 mg every 6 hours as needed, usually not to exceed one week. Take with food or milk to minimize gastrointestinal upset.
