Petnidan

Petnidan contains the active substance ethosuximide, an anticonvulsant drug of the succinimide class. It is primarily indicated for the treatment of absence seizures (petit mal epilepsy) in adults, adolescents, and children. It works by reducing abnormal electrical activity in the brain.

Dosage by Body Weight

Dosage must be adjusted individually by a physician based on clinical response and tolerability. Typically initiated at a low dose (approx. 15 mg/kg/day) and increased gradually every 4 to 7 days. Total daily dosage is usually split into 2 doses, taken during or after meals to reduce gastrointestinal side effects.
