Perinorm

Perinorm is an antiemetic and prokinetic medication containing Metoclopramide. It works by blocking dopamine receptors in the brain's chemoreceptor trigger zone to prevent nausea and vomiting, while simultaneously stimulating muscle contractions in the upper digestive tract to speed up gastric emptying.

Dosage by Body Weight

For adults, the typical oral dose is 10 mg taken up to 3 times daily, 30 minutes before meals and at bedtime. Treatment duration should ideally not exceed 5 days to minimize the risk of serious neurological side effects such as tardive dyskinesia.
