Leoprime
Leoprime contains Pyrimethamine, an antiparasitic medication that acts as a folic acid antagonist. It is primarily used to treat serious parasite infections of the body, brain, or eyes (toxoplasmosis) and to treat malaria, almost always in combination with other medications like sulfadiazine and leucovorin (folinic acid) to minimize side effects.
Dosage by Body Weight
Dosage must be strictly individualized by a physician. It is highly recommended to co-administer folinic acid (leucovorin) during treatment to prevent hematological toxicity (bone marrow suppression). Regular blood counts are mandatory.
