Pyrimethamine
A folic acid antagonist. Because it interferes with folate metabolism, it is almost always given with Folinic Acid (Leucovorin) to protect the patient.
Dosage by Body Weight
Toxoplasmosis loading dose: 2 mg/kg for 2 days, then 1 mg/kg daily. Requires Leucovorin rescue.
