Laxolac

Laxolac is an osmotic laxative containing lactulose, a synthetic sugar. It works by pulling water into the colon, which softens stools and promotes bowel movements. In hepatic encephalopathy, it helps reduce the absorption of ammonia from the gut, thereby lowering toxic ammonia levels in the blood.
