Latuda

Latuda (lurasidone) is an atypical antipsychotic medication. It is believed to work by modulating the activity of dopamine and serotonin receptors in the brain, helping to manage symptoms of schizophrenia and bipolar depression. It must be taken with food (at least 350 calories) for proper absorption.

Dosage by Body Weight

Always take Latuda with food (a meal or snack of at least 350 calories). The starting dose for schizophrenia in adults is typically 40 mg once daily, with a maximum dose of 160 mg daily. For bipolar depression, the starting dose is typically 20 mg once daily, with a maximum dose of 120 mg daily. Dosage adjustments are required for patients with moderate to severe renal or hepatic impairment.
