Lanreotide

Lanreotide is a synthetic somatostatin analog. Like natural somatostatin, it inhibits various endocrine, neuroendocrine, and exocrine mechanisms. It reduces the levels of growth hormone (GH) and insulin-like growth factor-1 (IGF-1), making it effective in managing acromegaly and slowing the growth of certain neuroendocrine tumors.

Dosage by Body Weight

Administered only by deep subcutaneous injection, typically in the superior external quadrant of the buttock, by a healthcare professional. For acromegaly, the recommended starting dose is 90 mg every 4 weeks, adjusted based on clinical response and hormone levels. For GEP-NETs, the recommended dose is 120 mg every 4 weeks.
