Fosamprenavir
Fosamprenavir is a protease inhibitor antiretroviral drug. It is a prodrug of amprenavir, which prevents HIV replication by binding to the active site of HIV-1 protease, thereby preventing the processing of viral gag and gag-pol polyproteins.
Dosage by Body Weight
Adult dose is typically 1400 mg twice daily without ritonavir, or 700 mg twice daily / 1400 mg once daily when boosted with ritonavir. Pediatric dosing is based on weight, age, and therapy experience, usually utilizing the oral suspension formulation.
