Falcigo

Falcigo contains Artesunate, a water-soluble hemisuccinate derivative of artemisinin. It is a highly effective antimalarial agent used for the rapid treatment of severe malaria. It works by generating reactive free radicals that damage and kill the malaria parasite within the host's red blood cells.

Dosage by Body Weight

Typically administered via intravenous (IV) or intramuscular (IM) injection in a hospital setting. The standard WHO recommendation is 2.4 mg/kg for adults and children weighing 20 kg or more, and 3.0 mg/kg for infants and children weighing less than 20 kg. Given at 0, 12, and 24 hours, followed by once daily doses. Patients should switch to a full course of oral artemisinin-based combination therapy (ACT) as soon as they can tolerate oral medication.
