Etibi

Etibi is a brand of Ethambutol Hydrochloride, an antituberculosis agent. It works by inhibiting the synthesis of metabolites, which in turn impairs cell metabolism, arrests multiplication, and causes cell death in actively growing mycobacteria. It is always prescribed as part of a multi-drug regimen to prevent the development of drug-resistant tuberculosis.

Dosage by Body Weight

Ethambutol is administered orally as a single daily dose, usually calculated at 15 to 25 mg/kg of body weight. It must be taken in combination with other anti-tuberculosis medications. Regular monitoring of visual acuity and color discrimination is highly recommended during treatment.
