Ebastin

Ebastine is a long-acting, selective, second-generation H1-histamine receptor antagonist. Once administered, it undergoes rapid metabolism into its active form, carebastine. It is highly effective in relieving symptoms of allergic reactions such as sneezing, rhinorrhea, nasal congestion, watery eyes, and chronic itching or hives, with a low incidence of central nervous system side effects like drowsiness.

Dosage by Body Weight

Adults and children over 12 years: 10 mg to 20 mg orally once daily. Children aged 6 to 11 years: 5 mg once daily. Children aged 2 to 5 years: 2.5 mg once daily. Dosage can be taken with or without food. Safety and efficacy in pediatric patients under 2 years of age have not been established.
