Acivir

Acivir contains Acyclovir, an antiviral drug. It works by slowing the growth and spread of the herpes virus in the body, helping the body fight off the infection. It does not cure herpes but decreases the severity and duration of outbreaks.

Dosage by Body Weight

Dosage is highly dependent on the type of infection, patient age, and renal function. It must be taken exactly as prescribed by a doctor, usually multiple times a day (up to 5 times daily for herpes zoster) for 5-10 days.
