Cortifoam

Cortifoam is a topical corticosteroid rectal foam containing hydrocortisone acetate. It works locally in the lower bowel and rectum to reduce inflammation, swelling, and itching associated with inflammatory bowel conditions like ulcerative proctitis.

Dosage by Body Weight

The usual adult dosage is one applicatorful (providing approximately 90 mg of hydrocortisone) administered rectally once or twice daily for two to three weeks, and then every second day thereafter. Pediatric safety and dosage have not been established.
