Benadryl

Benadryl is an antihistamine that reduces the effects of natural chemical histamine in the body. Histamine can produce symptoms of sneezing, itching, watery eyes, and runny nose. It also has sedative and antiemetic properties.

Dosage by Body Weight

Adults and children 12 years and over: 25 mg to 50 mg every 4 to 6 hours, not to exceed 300 mg in 24 hours. Children 6 to under 12 years: 12.5 mg to 25 mg every 4 to 6 hours, not to exceed 150 mg in 24 hours. Children under 6 years: consult a physician.
