Baloxavir

Baloxavir marboxil is a first-in-class antiviral medication that targets influenza A and B viruses. It acts as a cap-dependent endonuclease inhibitor, which halts viral replication at an early stage. Unlike older antivirals that require multiple days of dosing, Baloxavir is administered as a convenient single-dose therapy.

Dosage by Body Weight

Administered as a single oral dose with or without food. To ensure proper absorption, avoid coadministration with dairy products, calcium-fortified beverages, or products containing polyvalent cations (such as laxatives, antacids, or multivitamins containing calcium, iron, magnesium, selenium, aluminum, or zinc).
