The WHO gold standard for severe malaria. It works much faster than quinine and has a better safety profile. Must be followed by a full course of oral ACT.

Dosage by Body Weight

Pediatric dose: 3 mg/kg (for children <20kg) or 2.4 mg/kg (for >20kg) at 0, 12, and 24 hours, then daily.
