Adenocard

Adenocard (adenosine injection) is an intravenous antiarrhythmic agent. It acts rapidly by slowing conduction time through the AV node, interrupting AV nodal re-entry pathways, and restoring normal sinus rhythm in patients with PSVT.

Dosage by Body Weight

For rapid bolus intravenous use only. Administer directly into a vein or the closest proximal IV port over 1 to 2 seconds, followed immediately by a rapid saline flush. Adult dosing: Initial dose is 6 mg. If PSVT is not eliminated within 1 to 2 minutes, give 12 mg. The 12 mg dose may be repeated a second time if necessary.
