Sitagliptin

Sitagliptin is an oral dipeptidyl peptidase-4 (DPP-4) inhibitor class of antidiabetic drug. It works by increasing the levels of natural substances called incretins, which help to control blood sugar by increasing insulin release, especially after a meal, and decreasing the amount of sugar made by the liver.

Dosage by Body Weight

The standard dose for adults is 100 mg taken orally once daily, with or without food. Dose adjustments (50 mg or 25 mg once daily) are required for patients with moderate to severe renal impairment or end-stage renal disease. Always consult a healthcare provider before initiating or adjusting treatment.
