Versacloz

Versacloz is a brand-name atypical antipsychotic oral suspension containing clozapine. It is reserved for treatment-resistant schizophrenia and to reduce suicide risk due to its potential to cause severe neutropenia (low white blood cell count). Because of this risk, it is strictly monitored and only available through the Clozapine REMS program.

Dosage by Body Weight

Dosing must be strictly individualized. The starting dose is usually 12.5 mg once or twice daily, titrated upwards slowly by 25 mg to 50 mg per day to a target therapeutic range of 300 mg to 450 mg per day. Routine monitoring of Absolute Neutrophil Count (ANC) is required.
