Valganciclovir

A prodrug of ganciclovir. It is highly effective against CMV, which can be life-threatening in immunocompromised children or infants with congenital CMV.

Dosage by Body Weight

Pediatric dosing is complex, often calculated using the Mosteller Body Surface Area formula and creatinine clearance. For neonates with congenital CMV: 16 mg/kg twice daily.
