A nucleotide reverse transcriptase inhibitor (NtRTI). It is highly effective but requires monitoring of bone density and kidney function in growing children.
Dosage by Body Weight
Pediatric dose: 8 mg/kg once daily (max 300 mg). Generally recommended for children 2 years and older weighing at least 10 kg.
