Sulamyd

Sulamyd (sulfacetamide sodium) is a sulfonamide antibiotic used to treat bacterial infections of the eye, such as conjunctivitis. It works by inhibiting bacterial synthesis of dihydrofolic acid, preventing bacterial growth and replication.

Dosage by Body Weight

For ophthalmic solution (10%): Instill 1-2 drops into the affected eye(s) every 2 to 3 hours during the day, less frequently at night. For ophthalmic ointment (10%): Apply a thin ribbon (about 1/2 inch) into the conjunctival sac 3 to 4 times daily and at bedtime.
