Septocaine

Septocaine is a prescription local anesthetic injection containing articaine hydrochloride (an amide-type local anesthetic) and epinephrine (a vasoconstrictor). It is designed for infiltration and nerve block anesthesia in clinical dental procedures.

Dosage by Body Weight

Administered exclusively by dental professionals. The dosage depends on the physical status of the patient, the area of the oral cavity to be anesthetized, the vascularity of the oral tissues, and the technique of anesthesia. For dental infiltration in adults, 0.5 mL to 2.5 mL is typically used. The maximum dose of Septocaine should not exceed 7 mg/kg (0.175 mL/kg) of body weight.
