Rovamycine

Rovamycine is a macrolide antibiotic containing Spiramycin. It inhibits bacterial protein synthesis, effectively stopping the growth of susceptible bacteria. It is widely used for respiratory, oral, and skin infections, and is notably used in managing toxoplasmosis in pregnant patients to reduce the risk of congenital transmission.

Dosage by Body Weight

Adults: Usually 6 to 9 million IU daily, divided into 2 to 3 doses. Children: Usually 150,000 to 300,000 IU per kg of body weight daily, divided into 2 to 3 doses. Dosage must be strictly prescribed by a doctor.
