Works by blocking beta-adrenergic receptors. In infants, it is specifically used to shrink 'strawberry' birthmarks (hemangiomas).
Dosage by Body Weight
For hemangiomas, starts at 1 mg/kg/day and titrated to 3 mg/kg/day. Monitor heart rate and blood glucose.
