Privent

Privent (Ketotifen) is a non-bronchodilator antiasthmatic drug that inhibits the effects of certain inflammatory substances, such as histamine and leukotrienes. It also acts as a mast cell stabilizer, helping to prevent asthma attacks and reduce allergic reactions when taken regularly. It is not effective for treating acute asthma attacks.

Dosage by Body Weight

Take twice daily with meals. Dosage should be individualized. May cause drowsiness, especially during the first few days of treatment. Do not stop taking other asthma medications abruptly when starting Privent.
