Principen

Principen is a brand name for ampicillin, a beta-lactam antibiotic belonging to the penicillin family. It works by interfering with the synthesis of bacterial cell walls, leading to cell death. It is effective against both Gram-positive and some Gram-negative bacteria.

Dosage is highly dependent on the severity of the infection, site of infection, and the patient's renal function. For oral administration, it is best taken on an empty stomach (1 hour before or 2 hours after meals) with a full glass of water. Complete the entire prescribed course.
