Pin-X

Pin-X is an over-the-counter anthelmintic (deworming) medication containing pyrantel pamoate. It is used to treat pinworm infections in adults and pediatric patients. It acts as a neuromuscular blocking agent, paralyzing the helminths (worms) and causing them to be expelled naturally from the intestinal tract.

Dosage by Body Weight

Take as a single dose, with or without food. Dosage is determined by body weight (approx. 11 mg of pyrantel base per kg of body weight or 5 mg per pound). The maximum single dose is 1 gram (1000 mg). If symptoms persist or return, consult a doctor; a second dose is sometimes recommended 2 weeks after the first to prevent reinfection. It is highly recommended to treat all household members simultaneously.
