Palafer

Palafer is an oral iron supplement containing ferrous fumarate, which provides elemental iron. It is used to treat or prevent iron deficiency anemia, a condition where the body does not have enough healthy red blood cells due to low iron levels.

Dosage by Body Weight

For optimal absorption, take on an empty stomach (1 hour before or 2 hours after meals) with a full glass of water or fruit juice containing Vitamin C. If stomach upset occurs, it may be taken with or immediately after meals, though this may decrease iron absorption. Avoid taking within 2 hours of antacids, calcium supplements, dairy products, tea, or coffee.
