Actilax
Actilax is an oral liquid containing lactulose, a synthetic sugar that acts as an osmotic laxative. It works by drawing water into the bowel to soften stools and ease bowel movements. It is also used to lower blood ammonia levels in hepatic encephalopathy.
Dosage by Body Weight
Dosage should be adjusted individually to produce two or three soft stools per day. It may be taken with water, fruit juice, or milk, and can be taken with or without food.
