Monocor

Monocor contains bisoprolol fumarate, a highly selective beta1-adrenergic receptor blocker (beta-blocker). It works by slowing down the heart rate and making the heart more efficient at pumping blood, which helps lower elevated blood pressure, manage chest pain, and reduce the strain on the heart in patients with heart failure.

Dosage by Body Weight

Adults: Typically initiated at 5 mg once daily, which may be increased to 10 mg once daily depending on patient response. For heart failure, titration starts at a lower dose of 1.25 mg once daily. Tablets should be swallowed whole with water, preferably in the morning, with or without food. Do not stop taking this medication abruptly without consulting a doctor.
