Lorazepam (Pediatric)

A potent benzodiazepine. Preferred over diazepam in hospitals for stopping seizures because it lasts longer in the brain and has less 'rebound' effect.

Dosage by Body Weight

Status epilepticus: 0.05 mg/kg to 0.1 mg/kg IV. Oral sedation: 0.05 mg/kg.
