Isocur

Isocur contains Isotretinoin, a systemic retinoid highly effective in treating severe recalcitrant acne. It works by suppressing sebaceous gland activity, reducing sebum production, preventing clogging of pores, and reducing local inflammation. Due to its high risk of severe birth defects (teratogenicity), its use is strictly regulated under pregnancy prevention programs.

The standard daily dosage for adolescents and adults is 0.5 to 1.0 mg/kg body weight per day, administered in two divided doses with food. A typical treatment course lasts 15 to 20 weeks. This medication must only be prescribed and managed by a qualified dermatologist.
