Florinef (fludrocortisone Acetate)
Florinef (fludrocortisone acetate) is a synthetic corticosteroid with very potent mineralocorticoid properties and high glucocorticoid activity. It is primarily used for its mineralocorticoid effects to help the body retain sodium and excrete potassium, helping to regulate fluid balance and blood pressure.
Dosage by Body Weight
Dosage must be strictly individualized based on the severity of the disease and the response of the patient. Regular monitoring of blood pressure and serum electrolytes (sodium and potassium) is required during therapy. The typical adult dose ranges from 0.1 mg three times a week to 0.2 mg daily.
