Feratab
Feratab is an over-the-counter oral iron supplement containing ferrous sulfate. It is used to replenish iron stores in the body and treat or prevent iron deficiency anemia. Iron is a vital component of hemoglobin, which carries oxygen in the blood.
Dosage by Body Weight
Adults: Usually 1 tablet daily, or as directed by a healthcare professional. Best taken on an empty stomach at least 1 hour before or 2 hours after meals with a full glass of water or juice (vitamin C helps absorption). If stomach upset occurs, it may be taken with food, although this reduces absorption. Do not crush or chew. Keep out of reach of children.
