Feosol (Carbonyl)

Feosol Carbonyl Iron is an over-the-counter dietary supplement used to prevent and treat iron deficiency and iron deficiency anemia. Carbonyl iron is a highly purified form of elemental iron that is absorbed more slowly by the body, which typically results in fewer gastrointestinal side effects (such as constipation, nausea, or cramping) compared to soluble iron salts like ferrous sulfate.

Dosage by Body Weight

Take exactly as directed on the package or as prescribed by your doctor. It is best absorbed when taken on an empty stomach (1 hour before or 2 hours after meals) with water or fruit juice containing Vitamin C. If stomach upset occurs, it may be taken with food, though this may decrease absorption. Do not take within 2 hours of antacids, dairy products, tea, or coffee.
