Epaned

Epaned (enalapril maleate) is an angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitor. It works by relaxing blood vessels, lowering blood pressure, and increasing the supply of blood and oxygen to the heart. It is formulated as an oral solution, which is particularly beneficial for pediatric patients and adults who have difficulty swallowing pills.

Dosage by Body Weight

For pediatric patients with hypertension, the recommended starting dose is 0.08 mg/kg (up to 5 mg) administered once daily. Dosage should be adjusted based on blood pressure response. It is not recommended for neonates (under 1 month of age) or pediatric patients with severe renal impairment.
