Detrol LA

Detrol LA is an extended-release antimuscarinic (anticholinergic) medication. It works by relaxing the detrusor muscle of the bladder, which helps reduce sudden bladder muscle contractions and decreases the sensation of urgency and the frequency of urination.

Dosage by Body Weight

The recommended starting dose for adults is 4 mg taken orally once daily with liquid. The dose may be reduced to 2 mg daily based on individual response and tolerability. For patients with severe renal or hepatic impairment, the recommended dose is 2 mg daily. Capsules must be swallowed whole and should not be chewed, crushed, or divided. Not recommended for pediatric use.
