Citracal
Citracal is a brand of calcium supplements primarily containing calcium citrate. Unlike calcium carbonate, calcium citrate is easily absorbed by the body and can be taken with or without food. Many Citracal formulations also contain Vitamin D3 to assist the body with optimal calcium absorption.
Dosage by Body Weight
For adults, the typical dose is 1 to 2 tablets daily, or as recommended by a healthcare provider. It is best to limit single doses to 500 mg of elemental calcium for maximum absorption. Consult a doctor for pediatric dosing.
