Circadin

Circadin is a brand-name, prolonged-release formulation of melatonin. Melatonin is a naturally occurring hormone produced by the pineal gland in the brain, which plays a vital role in regulating the body's natural sleep-wake cycle (circadian rhythm). Circadin is designed to release melatonin gradually over several hours to mimic the body's natural secretion pattern, helping individuals fall asleep and maintain sleep quality.

Dosage by Body Weight

The standard adult dose is 2 mg (one tablet) taken 1 to 2 hours before bedtime, after food. The tablet must be swallowed whole to preserve the prolonged-release mechanism. It is typically prescribed for up to 13 weeks. Use in children and adolescents is restricted to specialist recommendation.
