Bio Statin

Bio Statin contains the active ingredient nystatin, an antifungal polyene antibiotic. It is used to treat fungal infections of the gastrointestinal tract and oral cavity. Nystatin works by binding to sterols in the fungal cell membrane, causing cell leakage and death. It is poorly absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract, meaning its action is primarily local.

Dosage by Body Weight

For oral thrush, the suspension should be held in the mouth or swished around for as long as possible before swallowing. For intestinal candidiasis, capsules or suspension are swallowed directly. Dosage is determined by a healthcare provider based on age and clinical response rather than weight alone.
