Anxol

Anxol contains Alprazolam, a triazolobenzodiazepine class medication. It works by binding to benzodiazepine receptors in the brain, enhancing the inhibitory effects of GABA (gamma-aminobutyric acid), which produces an anxiolytic, sedative, and calming effect on the central nervous system.

Dosage by Body Weight

For adults, the typical starting dose for anxiety is 0.25 mg to 0.5 mg administered 3 times daily. This may be increased according to patient response up to a maximum of 4 mg daily in divided doses. Treatment duration should be kept as short as possible to prevent dependency.
