Amatem Suspension
Amatem Suspension is an artemisinin-based combination therapy (ACT) containing a fixed-dose combination of artemether and lumefantrine. It is designed for pediatric use to treat acute, uncomplicated malaria infections. The suspension requires reconstitution with water before administration and works by rapidly clearing malaria parasites from the bloodstream.
Dosage by Body Weight
The reconstituted suspension must be shaken well before each dose. It should be taken with milk, breast milk, or fatty food to significantly increase the absorption of lumefantrine. A full 3-day course consisting of 6 doses must be completed.
