Albenza
Albenza (albendazole) is a broad-spectrum, synthetic anthelmintic agent. It targets and eliminates various parasitic worm infestations by causing selective degeneration of cytoplasmic microtubules in intestinal and tegmental cells of the worm, depleting its energy and leading to death.
Dosage by Body Weight
Always take with food, especially high-fat meals, to significantly increase absorption. For adults and children weighing 60 kg or more, the standard dose is 400 mg twice daily. For those weighing less than 60 kg, the dose is calculated at 15 mg/kg/day divided into two daily doses (up to a maximum of 800 mg/day). Dosing cycle length varies depending on the targeted parasitic infection.
